Getting started

Do I need an account? No. Mujō generates an identity on your device automatically. Nothing to register, no email, no phone number.

How do I add a contact? Tap the QR icon and share your code with the person you want to connect with, or scan theirs. Pairing is mutual and direct.

Why can't I find people by name? By design. Mujō has no user directory. You connect with people through direct QR exchange - not through a searchable database.

Messages

Where are my messages stored? On your device only. Mujō does not maintain a copy of your messages. If you delete the app or reset your identity, messages are gone.

Can I recover deleted messages? No. This is intentional. Ephemeral means ephemeral.

Why did a message fail to deliver? The recipient's device may be offline. Undelivered messages are held on our relay for up to 7 days, then deleted.

Can Mujō read my messages? No. Messages are encrypted on your device before transmission. We relay an opaque ciphertext and have no key to decrypt it.

How do I delete all my data? Go to Settings → Reset Identity. This deletes your device token from our relay infrastructure and all associated data. Uninstalling the app has the same effect.

Is Mujō open source? Not yet. Enterprise customers may request an architecture review under NDA. Contact licensing@aeonianengineering.com.

Subscriptions

What does Free include? One contact, full encryption, ephemeral messages, QR pairing.

How do I cancel? Subscriptions are managed through Google Play or Microsoft Store. Cancel directly in the store app - we do not process payments independently.

Can I get a refund? Refund requests are handled by the app store where you purchased. We cannot issue refunds directly.
