Identity Deletion

How to delete your Mujō identity and all associated data.

Last updated: April 2026

No account to delete.Mujō does not use accounts, emails, or passwords. Your identity exists only on your device as a cryptographic token. Deleting it is instant, complete, and irreversible and you can do it yourself at any time.

How Mujō Identity Works

When you first open Mujō, a unique device token is generated and stored locally on your device. This token:

Your contact list, message history, and pairing data are stored only on your device. Mujō's servers never hold your contacts or message content.

Self-Service Deletion (Instant)

You can delete all your data instantly without contacting us. Three methods are available:

Option 1: Reset Identity (in-app) Recommended

  1. Open Mujō
  2. Go to Settings
  3. Tap Reset Identity
  4. Confirm read the warning carefully

Result: Your device token, local contact list, message history, and all pairing data are permanently deleted. Mujō's servers are notified to delete the associated relay records. You can start fresh with a new identity immediately.

Option 2: Clear App Data (Android)

  1. Go to Settings → Apps →Mujō
  2. Tap Storage
  3. Tap Clear data
  4. Confirm the action

Result: Identical to Option 1, but the server is not explicitly notified. Server-side relay records associated with your token will be purged during routine cleanup within 30 days.

Option 3: Uninstall Mujō

Uninstalling the app removes all local data automatically. Server-side relay records are purged within 30 days.

⚠ This cannot be undone. Once your identity is deleted, it is gone permanently. We cannot recover it. Your contacts will no longer be able to reach you on that identity. If you have an active paid subscription via license key, note the key separately before resetting you can re-apply it to your new identity. App store subscriptions are tied to your store account and can be restored automatically.

What Happens to Server-Side Data

When your identity is deleted or reset:

Mujō’s servers hold no contact list, no message content, and no relationship graph. There is nothing else to delete.

Subscriptions After Identity Reset

App store subscriptions (Google Play, Microsoft Store)

Subscriptions are tied to your store account, not your Mujō identity. If you reset your identity and create a new one, re-open the subscription section in Mujō Settings your active subscription will be detected and linked to your new identity automatically. Cancellation is managed through your store account.

License key subscriptions

License keys are tied to the device token at the time of activation. If you reset your identity, your key will need to be re-entered in Settings to activate on the new identity. A key can be transferred to a new identity once per billing period. If you encounter issues, contact support@parta.app with your key reference.

Assisted Deletion

If you cannot perform self-service deletion (lost device, app crash, other issue), contact us:

Email: support@parta.app

Provide any information that may help identify your token (approximate registration date, device type). Note that without your device token, verification options are limited Mujō is designed so that we hold minimal identifying information by default.

GDPR and HK PDPO Rights

Under GDPR and HK PDPO you have the right to access, correct, or erase data we hold. Given Mujō's minimal data model, self-service reset covers the vast majority of deletion rights. For formal written requests:

Integritet: support@parta.app
EU GDPR representative: pdo@parta.app

Why This Design

We believe deletion should be something you control, not something you request and wait for. With Mujō, your data is yours and deleting it takes seconds, not days. The trade-off is that recovery is impossible. We think that is the right trade-off.
